A Journey in New York !

Hey, I finaly had the time (and the internet connection) to do a review about the fantastic trip my wife and I made in New york this fall !

Of course the city was great ! But most of all I wanted to speak about the amazing artists that I have meet there.

I have work a lot with Doug Gregory for the last years and FINALY had the joy of meet him !! And all time that we shared was good time, thanks a lot, Doug !

He is the man (Art director) behing a lot of Blizzard’s publishing projets ! So he was for the Book of Tyrael and on this incredible short animation serie: The Burdens of Shaohao.

Doug was also our guide In New York and introduce us to most of those artists :

Mia Araujo: is a very talented young illustrator, you must check her website and Mia was also such a nice person to hang around with !

Vera Greentea: an other young and very talented comic writer and publisher ! I worked with her last year on the comic book: Papa; availlable now on Comixology !

Scott M. Fischer: This man knows evevythings about illustraton, children books, comics… Bicycles, cheesy guitars and old Datsun cars. We had such a good time chating with him ! his work is breathtaking. Look out for the incomings Angel & Faith covers he is doing for Dark horse !

Filipe Andrade: Well Filipe is a well known comic book artist… but me I didn’t know his work and I was… and still is… blow away by his original pages that I have seen at the convention…

Andrew Robinson: Very Famous too !! it was a joy to meet him ! I can’t wait to read his new comics: The fifth Beatle !

Greg Manchess: Once again, I didn’t knew the art of Greg Manchess before this trip. How ignorant was I… I went to see his exibit at the society of illustrators… that was such a good time. His paintings are very strong and impressive ! Just go see his art, it speaks for itself.

Jeremy Bastian : The creator of « Cursed Pirate Girl ». I love everything in his work !

The last but not the least: the legendary Geoff Darrow ! thank to my wife because I was too shy and dindn’t want to speak to him… finaly I did and he is such a gentlemen !!! The man of Hard Boiled, Shaolin Cowboy ! Matrix !  I couldn’t have been happier !

What a good time we had …. now, Go Back To Work !!

De pire en pire…

Pendant Que Ce Cher Gabriel, mon génial scénariste, attend fébrilement les planches de notre nouveau projet… je commet ces Horreurs pour me détendre.

L’Orc est le célèbre Stevostin, tel qu’il est vraiment.

Non !

Qui a fait ce dessin ? moi ?… certainement pas, j’ai jamais joué à ce jeu !

Aussi…

… je travaille mais je le montre pas… c’est secret.

ENFIN ! « Brendan et le secret de Kells ».

Oui, enfin un beau film d’animation ! enfin une belle histoire ! enfin on sort des niaiseries des grands studios (il était temps)!

Ce film est simple, beau, élégant: « Brendan et le secret de Kells « … une fable du moyen age autour d’un des plus beaux  manuscrit enluminés qui nous est parvenu de cette époque: le livre de Kells (visible au Trinity college de Dublin).

Bravo à tous les artistes qui ont travaillés dessus, bravo aux producteurs, maintenant si vous ne l’avez pas vu, achetez le, regardez le et offrez le à vos proches pour noël !!!

Pythons Tome 3 !

Une petite news, pour insister sur l’existance de cette petite série, qui mérite sa place chez les gens qui aiment l’héroique fantaisie.

« Pythons » tome 3:

“Talonnés par l’homme au masque d’or, Guilhem et Poppée s’enfoncent dans les entrailles du sanctuaire des sauroctones. Leur seul espoir est de mettre la main sur les armes sacrées des anciens tueurs de dragons.

 Voilà, l’album est dans les bacs depuis la fin Aout. Mais d’après mes retours, malheureusement, il est dur à trouver.

« Je viens de lire mon exemplaire (achété à la librairie BDrama de Reims) et j’ai vraiment BEAUCOUP aimé! Quelqu’un a écrit plus tôt que ça se lisait vite, je dirais pour ma part que ça se lit trop vite! Le plaisir est bien trop court ;-p Du coup je vais relire les 2 premiers tomes pour prolonger ce plaisir… C’est très bien mené et la mise en couleurs nuancée est très efficace en apportant un contrepoint au style vif. Je répète ce que j’ai déjà dit, cette histoire là m’a fait changer ma vision des récits de fantasy. J’attend avec impatience vos prochains travaux! »

« J’ai été très sensible au dessin de Joseph Lacroix et sa façon de jeter des petits traits l’air de rien, comme ça, mais en fait super efficace : ça donne envie. Il a été plaisant de saisir le progrès de ce chouette trait du premier au troisième opus.
C’est une bonne petite épopée fantastique, peut être trop courte parfois : j’ai eu la sensation que le scénario (surtout au tome premier) allait à (trop) grands pas… Elle sort en tout cas du lot par sa façon d’aborder l’amour, les sentiments, la liberté. »

Ben, je suis plutôt content, il est pas mal ! on a bien bossé.

Maintenant, va falloir se lancer dans de nouvelles aventures…
